Review: Kippabuw Chocolate Lip Butter

by - Rabu, Mei 28, 2014

Hello! It's been a while since my last post. Few months ago I won a giveaway #FoodForBeautyChallenge sharing a story about my experience using natural products for skin care. I mentioned several things such as: greek yoghurt, castor oil, egg yolks and even baking soda. Some were impressively working while the others were totally troublesome without result. Well, in the end I was lucky being able randomly picked as one of 3 winners. I won a lip butter and a soap. All of them were natural and home-made products under the brand kippabuw. Ever heard? Let's check it!

Kippabuw is an original brand by Indonesian, Veronica Lucia, she started making natural products for skin care knowing that she has sensitive skin (just like mine too).

Ok, so now let's talking about this Chocolate Lip Butter I received. Just when I've ran out my lipcare, I decided to give this a try eventually after keeping it for a month (I  heard that natural products would only last for 6 months, so it's better to use this soon).

The packaging is a small jar, like a soft lens jar with the tagline food for beauty. It doesn't have complete description written other than the ingredient :
  • Cocoa butter, beeswax, cocoa powder, coconut oil, and olive oil.
Try to answer my own anxiety since this is my first time knowing about chocolate for lip? So here are each benefit of the ingredients.
  • Cocoa butter keeps lips well-moisturized and soft no matter (source)
  • Beeswax protects the tender skin on your lips and reduce chances of developing chapped lips during cold weather (source).
  • Cocoa powder cocoa powder has nearly twice the antioxidants of red wine, and up to three times those found in green tea (source).
  • Coconut oil heals chapped lips, keeps lips soft (source).
  • Olive oil keeps lips hydrated in a pinch (source).

It has sweet scent, like you are really ready to eat it. LOL. The texture is soft although I need to dig a little bit to get some proper amount for my lips. The healing power is seriously awesome! It heals my chapped lips within 2-3 hours. With regular application, I find that my lips keep soft.

Beeswax is said to have protecting ability from UV Rays, but I'm not really sure for how long and how strong the barrier it has, that's why I don't really use this when I'm going outside. You know that I'm crazy over SPF and PA lately, I'd rather to use this butter while I'm at home.

So far my rating is 4 out of 5, just because I'm not sure about the sun-protecting ability. Unfortunately I don't know the price but you can always contact via twitter. But I think I would a real purchase for this product. If you're outside Indonesia, she also does international shipping so everyone can order :)

See you and stay healthy!
